Keeping a Utility Provider Connected for Seamless Operations

Summit Utilities delivers natural gas services to homes, businesses, and industries across Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. As a utility provider, clear communication is essential to effectively coordinate with field and on-site teams. Reliable cellular service inside their headquarters is just as critical as delivering energy to their communities.

THE PROBLEM

Weak Indoor Cellular Signals

Despite being located in an area with strong outdoor coverage, Summit Utilities' headquarters struggled with poor reception indoors. Little to no service plagued conference rooms, offices, workrooms, and cubicles. Calls were often dropped mid-conversation, texts failed to send, and critical work apps lagged.

While the team tried to rely on WiFi calling, it proved spotty and unreliable the majority of the time. This frustrated employees and executives alike, negatively affecting both day-to-day productivity and the ability to respond quickly to urgent situations.

Determined to fix the problem, Summit Utilities got in contact with Bolton Install Pros through Signal Boosters for a high-performance solution.

THE SOLUTION

WilsonPro 4330 & Cel-Fi GO G41 FirstNet

The company needed reliable AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and FirstNet coverage across the entire first floor, which spanned 35,000 square feet.

Our technicians began with a detailed on-site survey to map the building's signal environment and determine the ideal system layout. Because few solutions support all major carriers plus FirstNet simultaneously, we recommended a dual-system approach where we installed both the WilsonPro 4330 and Cel-Fi GO G41 FirstNet.

The WilsonPro 4330 is a commercial-grade, multi-carrier signal amplifier that delivers powerful coverage for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. The Cel-Fi GO G41 FirstNet is a dedicated booster that is specially designed to enhance FirstNet Band 14 coverage where it's needed. Combined, these two solutions properly addressed all of Summit Utilities' cellular service needs, resulting in much smoother communication for on-site teams and first responders.

We installed four donor antennas on the roof to capture strong outdoor signals and 17 indoor antennas to distribute amplified coverage throughout the first floor. This configuration ensured every office, meeting space, and work area had strong, dependable cell coverage.

THE RESULTS

Reliable Coverage Across All Carriers

Our team took before and after signal strength readings in dBm. The closer these values are to 0, the stronger the signal. Values close to -120 indicate poor, unreliable service. Cellular signal strength and coverage transformed with the WilsonPro 4330 and Cel-Fi GO G41 FirstNet deployed. Here are the results per carrier:

Signal reliability dramatically improved across all carriers, converting previously unreliable cellular connectivity into strong, stable reception throughout the facility.

Employees and executives could now easily make calls, send messages, and access mobile data anywhere on the first floor without interruption. Dropped calls became a thing of the past, and meetings ran smoothly with uninterrupted connectivity.

Now, with reliable cell coverage, Summit Utilities can confidently continue delivering essential services, coordinating teams, and supporting customers without communication setbacks.
