Enhancing Patient Care with Reliable Connectivity
Lovelace Women's Hospital, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the state's first and only hospital dedicated to women's health. They are committed to providing a safe environment for patients and delivering high-quality care.
THE PROBLEM
Cellular Dead Zones Compromise Patient Care & Staff Communication
Hospitals are notorious for poor cellular coverage due to thick concrete walls, metal infrastructure, and complex layouts. Lovelace Women's Hospital was no different, plagued with spotty reception and various dead sports across four floors.
Patients and visitors struggled to keep in touch with loved ones. Calls would drop and texts would fail, causing a mix of anxiety, worry, and frustration. Internal communication between doctors, nurses, and staff also suffered. When unable to use their mobile devices, they were forced to rely on landlines located in specific areas of the hospital, resulting in inefficiencies and delays.
Realizing the impact of unreliable cellular coverage on patient care and hospital operations, Lovelace contacted CamNet for a solution, who in turn contacted Bolton Install Pros at Signal Boosters for help.

THE SOLUTION
Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000c Hybrid DAS
During the consultation, Lovelace stresses the need for seamless AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon coverage throughout the building to ensure reliable connectivity for everyone inside the facility.
To identify and design the best solution, we conducted a thorough site survey, analyzing the hospital’s layout and existing signal strength. The Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000c Hybrid DAS by Nextivity emerged as the best choice.
This system supports Cat 6 and fiber cabling, allowing long cable runs without the signal degradation typically seen with coaxial cable systems. Its advanced filtering technology eliminates unwanted RF noise, delivering consistently high-quality signal. Plus, with industry-leading gain up to 100 dB, the QUATRA offers a significant power increase for superior coverage compared to other units.
We integrated the QUATRA 4000c with 3 LPDA donor antennas (each tuned to a specific network) and a total of 71 strategically placed low-profile indoor dome antennas, ensuring comprehensive coverage across four floors. expectations.

THE RESULTS
Cellular Boost, Care Uninterrupted
The Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000c transformed AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon connectivity throughout Lovelace Women’s Hospital.
Enhanced reception across 175,000 sq ft streamlined communication between doctors, nurses, and staff, improving workflow and reducing delays. Patients and visitors can now easily connect with loved ones as well as research without lag to stay informed. Additionally, critical IoT systems relying on cellular as a backup network also benefit.
With robust cellular coverage in place, Lovelace Women’s Hospital can continue to provide the highest standard of patient care without interruption.
