Comanche CMH Hospital
THE PROBLEM
A Total Dead Zone Inside a Critical Healthcare Hub
Comanche County Memorial Hospital is a leading healthcare provider in Southwest Oklahoma. As a full-service regional medical center, the hospital operates a large campus in Lawton, serving patients with a range of specialty services and dedicated medical staff.
While Comanche CMH’s location in Lawton offers strong cellular coverage outside, the hospital’s main building was a different story. Due to its construction materials, cellular connectivity was nonexistent once inside. It was impossible to make calls, send/receive messages, or access critical data.
For a busy hospital, this wasn’t just an inconvenience. It created serious communication challenges. Doctors, nurses, and specialists, as well as patients and their families, frequently experienced dropped connections and dead spots in patient rooms, offices, waiting areas, corridors, and other critical areas. Reliable cellular communication is key to care coordination, and the lack of it was slowing down response efforts.
Having worked with Bolton Install Pros in 2020 to fix connectivity issues in their ER, Comanche CMH turned to us again, this time for a solution that would cover their main floor and lobby.

THE SOLUTION
Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000c Hybrid DAS
Bolton Install Pro techs first conducted a thorough site survey to assess the hospital’s unique coverage needs. With their findings in hand, our team recommended the Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000c hybrid DAS system by Nextivity.
This solution was configured to boost AT&T, T-Mobile, and US Cellular throughout the main floor and lobby, with the flexibility to expand coverage later on. These carriers were prioritized due to staff and operational needs.
Bolton Install Pro installers managed the full deployment. Three outdoor LPDA antennas were installed on the roof to capture the strongest possible signal from the desired carriers. Inside the hospital, seventy-six strategically placed low-profile dome antennas ensured consistent coverage in all key areas. With advanced technology and ultra-high gain, the QUATRA 4000c delivered the scalable performance the hospital needed, not just for today’s coverage but with future growth in mind.

THE RESULTS
Reliable Coverage Boosted Across 200,000 sq ft
The transformation was immediate. Cellular coverage across the main floor and lobby—covering approximately 200,000 sq ft—improved from a total dead zone to an average of -98 dBm, roughly equal to 0 to 3-4 bars of signal.
With stronger coverage, staff could communicate more easily, patients could stay connected with loved ones, and overall operations ran more smoothly. The improved signal not only enhanced day-to-day workflows but also laid the groundwork for future expansion across the rest of the hospital.
